وفي هذا العمل يتحرك المؤلف بين الحث والذاكرة، بين الغائب والمتكلم، بين الحاضر والماضي، وبين السرد والحوار ناسجاً شبكة معقدة من العلاقات، بلغة أدبية أقرب إلى الشعرية التي تتجلى فيها روح المؤلف ونظرته إلى ما يدور داخل وطنه وعلاقته بالخارج فتبرز لنا معاني كبيرة كامنة وراء المقاومة على الأرض؛ مثل ما معنى الوطنية؟ وما معنى الخيانة؟ وما هو دور المرأة في المقاومة؟ وما هو مفهوم الشهادة؟ وكيف يمكن أن يوجه السلاح وعلى حد قول الأستاذ عبد القادر الحصني في معرض تقديمه لهذا العمل: "هذا المعلم يُبرز إيمان الكاتب بالفكر ودوره في توجيه السلاح، وأنه هو الأصل، فلا فرق ما بين المقاوم والمجرم المعتدي إلا بالفكر الذي يحمله كلٌ منهما. وقد أراد الدكتور عواضة المهندس والعالم والمخترع قبل أن يكون روائياً أن تكون السايدة للعقل قبل السلام ...".
