يبين الكتاب سحر بلاد العرب وجمالها قديماً وحديثاً, فقد استهوت في القديم المغامرين, وجعلتهم يتحملون المشاق لاستجلاء مواطن الروعة والفتنة والغموض فيها, كما استهوتهم حديثاً للغاية نفسها, فضلاً عن أن مركزها الهام السياسي والاقتصادي والطبيعي أصبح مركز دراسات متنوعة واهتمامات شتى الاتجاهات المختلفة هذا من جهة ومن جهة أخرى يبين أن الاستعمار لم يصل الى بلادنا فجأة, بل بعد عقبات كثيرة تجاوزها, وتضحيات كبيرة قدمها, وصبراً طويلاً كابده وعاناه, بكشف المنطقة أولاً, ثم باستعمال بعض أبنائها وحكامها ليكونوا سواء عرفوا أغراضه ومراميه أم لم يعرفوها عوناً له على استعمال المنطقة واستغلالها واستعباد إنسانها واتهامه بعد ذلك كله بالوحشية, التي لا تبلغ نسبتها مهما كبرت معشار ما تلاقيه الشعوب من وحشية المستعمر وفظاظته في البلاد المستعمرة التي يحتلها. وفيه بيان لتحامل المؤلف على العرب والمسلمين وذلك بوصفهم بدواً متوحشين وذلك ناشيء عن حقده الأممي والديني عليهم, وعن عدم إلمامه أو تجاهله التاريخ الصحيح للعرب من الجاهلية الى اليوم. كما فيه تغطية لهمجية الاستعمار الأوربي بما يدعيه هو, ومن على شاكلته من الغربيين من توحش عند العرب وبقاء الرق والعبودية بينهم, وقد قضى الاسلام عليهم منذ عهوده الأولى, وحررعباد الله جميعاً بما فيهم العبيد, حتى لو بقوا عبيداً من العبودية لغير الله تعالى, مخفياً بذلك كل استعباد اوربة للشعوب, وفتكها وبطشها وتدميرها لكل معالم حضارية فيها. وأهم ما جاء في فصول هذا الكتاب ما يلي: سحر بلاد العرب القاصية. رواد وسجناء وعبيد. أنباء حركة التنوير الفلسفية في القرن الثامن عشر. المغامرون الوطنيون. العسكريون والمدنيون. المغامرة الأخيرة.
