هذا الكتاب : عبارة عن دراسة متأنية لقوله تعالى : ( الله ولي الذين آمنوا يخرجهم من الظلمات إلى النور ...) وقد استخرج الإمام السيوطي رحمه الله من الآية المذكورة عشرين و مائة نوع من أنواع البديع ، ونيفا و عشرين مسألة من علوم شتى ، و يبين من هذه الدراسة ما يلي : إن البلاغة علم موضوع أصلا لخدمة القرآن الكريم ، و القرآن عربي ، و العرب الذين نزل فيه القرآن كانوا في قمة الفصاحة و البلاغة ، ولم يكونوا محتاجين لهذا العلم لأنهم بحكم فطرتهم يدركون مراتب الكلام ، ولما فشا اللحن نتيجة الإختلاط بالأمم الأخرى ،وضع علم النحو حفظا للسان العربي المبين ، ومن بعده علم البلاغة ، وذلك لأن الفساد الذي دب إلى الألسنة أعقبه فساد دب إلى الأذواق ، فكان لابد من حفظ و تدوين لسان العرب ، وطرائقها في التعبير و أساليبها في البلاغة ، وذلك احترازا من الخطأ في فهم أساليب العرب ، وسعيا لتربية الملكات الأدبية في النفوس لكي تدرك دلائل الإعجاز في القرآن الكريم ، ولا نقول أسراره لأنه لا يعلم سر الإعجاز في الكتاب العزيز إلا الذي يعلم السر في السموات والأرض.. إن كلمات الله لا يحدها بيان . ( قل لو كان البحر مدادا لكلمات ربي لنفد البحر قبل أن تنفد كلمات ربي ولو جئنا بمثله مددا) . ومن خلال الكتاب نعرف فضل العلماء السابقين ، فعالم التفسير هو نفسه عالم النحو و البلاغة والسنة . ويدفعنا إلى البحث و التأمل و اكتشاف المزيد من دلائل إعجاز القرآن .
