للمعرفة مفاتيح، والسؤال أحدها. "اسأل تعلم"؛ وبالسؤال تنفتح مغاليق العقول وتستثار دفائنها "القلوب أقفال مفاتحها السؤال" كما يقول الإمام أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه. الذي يُبديه تأريخ الفكر الإنساني وشوط انفتاح الإنسانية على المعرف أن السؤال لم ينفك عن الركب البشري منذ أن عرف الإنسان ذاته ووعى وجوده. والسؤال على ضروب، منه الأسئلة الثابتة التي تترافق مع وجود الإنسان وتعايشه، ومثلها الأسئلة الدينية التي ترتبط بالخلق والوجود وفلسفة التكوين ودور الدين، كما يمكن للأسئلة الفقهية وتلك التي ترتبط بالشبهات العملية أن تتغير من عصر إلى عصر، لأن الفقه يرتبط بالجانب السلوكي من الإنسان، الذي ينطوي بدوره وفي جزء من أجزائه على التغير.
أما الأسئلة العقائدية فهي أميل إلى الثبات حتى وهي ترتوي أثواباً جديدة وتتسلح بآليات منهجية ومعرفية حديثة تستعيرها من تطور الحياة العلمية وازدهار المعرفة الإنسانية وما يفضي إليه ذلك من التباسات ومناطق غامضة في وعي الإنسان المعاصر. ودور السؤال العقائدي أنه يعمل كاسحة ألغام تجرف المناطق المعتمة في عقل الإنسان ومن ثم تزيل الشك عن نفسه، ليضاء عقله بنور المعرفة والعلم ويسكن قلبه إلى الطمأنينة واليقين.
وفي إطار الأسئلة الدينية جاء هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا والذي تتألف من أثنين وثمانين سؤالاً ضمت إلى بعضها لتشكل محتواه. ومع أنه يضم خليطاً من الأسئلة إلا أن نسبة الثلثين-تقريباً-تهتم بأسئلة عقائدية تنتمي إلى أصول الإسلام عامة واصول التشيّع. أما البقية فإن شطراً مهماً منها يرتد إلى الجانب العقيدي بمعناه العام أو الخاص. لذلك كله فإنه مسحة الأسئلة العقائدية هي التي طغت على الكتاب، وحولته إثر ذلك إلى كتاب مفتوح تعمّ فوائده ولا تنحصر بيئة اجتماعية دون غيرها على الأغلب.
