ولمَا كانت قلَة من المتخصصين والباحثين في التاريخ الوسيط، قد تناولت بالدرس مجالات الحياة في المشرق العربي من خلال متون الرحلات المغربية والأندلسية، فلا بد من الإشادة هنا بالجهد العلمي المركز الذي بذله الباحث في تناول رحلات المغاربة والأندلسيين إلى المشرق بالدرس والتعريف والتحليل واستخلاص النتائج. ومن جريدة الكتاب يمكن للقارئ أن يلاحظ ما اعتمد الدارس من مصادر ذات أصول ومشارب متنوعة ساعدته على استكشاف وتركيز تلك الصورة التي رسمها الرحالون المغاربة والأندلسيون للمشرق العربي في العصور الوسطى.
