تعدّ رسالة الإمام الصادق عليه السلام إلى الشيعة بجدّ رسالة شريفة ومهمّة وغنيّة في محتوياتها، وعظيمة في مطالبها، لذا كان الشيّعة يضعونها في مصلاّهم ويتعاهدونها عقيب الصلوات. ونظراً لأهميّة الرّسالة، ووفرة محتوياتها، وكثرة ما فيها من معارف وآداب وسنن، فقد تصدّى السيد صادق الحسيني الشيرازي إلى شرحها وبيان بعض مطالبها بأسلوب سهل عميق، وذلك في مباحث الأخلاق الأسبوعيّة التي كان يلقيها على بعض الفضلاء وطلبة العلوم الدينيّة قبل تصدّيه للمرجعيّة بسنين.
