الإسلام والضحك – نواضر الخاطر في كل مستطرف باهر . في هذا الكتاب يقول شيخ الضاحكين الجاحظ "ولو استعمل الناس الرصانة في كل حال والجد في كل مقال وتركوا التسميح والتسهيل وعقدوا أعناقهم في كل دقيق وجليل، لكان السفه صراحاً خيراً لهم والباطل محضاً أردّ عليهم"، وهذا حال الإسلام في أيامنا هذه، وقد انقض عليه تاركو التسميح والتسهيل فخرج علينا المتشحون والممتقعون والملتحون المأخوذون بالقتل والتقتيل، لا يعرفون من الإسلام إلا إقامة الحدود والتحريم والتكفير، محوّلين الدعوة الدينية إلى إرهاب فكري، وهم إن جرت مقاربتهم إنسانياً فإنهم مدعاة للتندر والضحك، وما يصدر عنهم ليس إلا اتباعاً لأهوائهم أو امتثالاً لأولياء نعمتهم، في تناغم منقطع النظير مع الجهل والإسفاف والابتذال، وليبدو الضحك ناشزاً غريباً في هذا المقام، ذلك أن الهزل والتندر عدو الجهل وفاضحه لا محالة – "يتوجه الهزل إلى الذكاء الخالص" - ليكون الضحك في هذا السياق فعل مقاومة للقابضين على جمرة الزعيق والعويل والتهويل، المأخوذين بخطاب الترهيب والتخويف، فكيف لضاحك أن يمتثل للترهيب الذي يريدون زرعه فيه؟ وليكون الضحك في هذا المقام أشدّ وقعاً من الرثاء الذي تستدعيه أحوالنا، أو اليأس المتوفر بكثرة فيما يحيط بنا من كل حدب وصوب.
