وهذا الموضوع تحفل به أمهات الكتب وأعظم الأسفار وقد أشبعه العلماء والأدباء والمؤرخون كلاماً وتفصيلاً ولكن الذي دعا الشيخ محمد كاظم الخرساني إلى إعادة تحقيقه، هو أنه خلاصته طريفة لطيفة ورسالة وجيزة تحمل خلاصة هذه السير الشريفة بأخصر عبارة وأوضح بيان، وبأسلوب سهل قريب التناول. فهو يغني عن الكتب الضخمة لما فيه من روحية مؤلفه، ومن حسن اختياره الجميل اللذين أن دلا فإنما يدلان على براعة الانتقاء وسلامة النية، وعلى الإيمان الراسخ الذي تقرأه بين سطور كاتبه.
