داود الأنطاكي (000 - 1008 هـ = 000 - 1600 م)
داود بن عمر الأنطاكي: عالم بالطب والأدب. كان ضريرا، انتهت إليه رياسة الأطباء في زمانه.
ولد في إنطاكية، وحفظ القرآن، وقرأ المنطق والرياضيات وشيئا من الطبيعيات، ودرس اللغة اليونانية فأحكمها.
وهاجر إلى القاهرة، فأقام مدة أشتهر بها، ورحل إلى مكة فأقام سنة توفي في آخرها.
كان قوي البديهة يسأل عن الشيء من الفنون فيملي على السائل الكراسة والكراستين، قال المحبي: وقد شاهدت رجلا سأله عن حقيقة النفس الإنسانية فأملى عليه رسالة عظيمة.
من تصانيفه (تذكرة أولي الألباب - ط) في الطب والحكمة، ثلاث مجلدات، يعرف بتذكرة داود، و (تزيين الأسواق - ط) في الأدب، اختصره من (أسواق الأشواق) للبقاعي. وله (النزهة المبهجة في تشحيذ الأذهان وتعديل الأمزجة - ط) و (غاية المرام في تحرير المنطق والكلام) و (نزهة الأذهان في إصلاح الآبدان) و (زينة الطروس في أحكام العقول والنفوس) و (ألفية في الطب) و (كفاية المحتاج في علم العلاج) و (شرح عينية ابن سينا) و (رسالة في علم الهيئة) وله شعر.

بهذا الجزء السادس نختم كتاب "تزيين الأسواق بتفصيل أشواق العشاق" وقد اخترنا له اسم "غرائب العشق" لما فيه من ضروب الحب والتدله والحكايات واللطائف، حلاه مؤلفه ببديع أقوال الشعراء، وما وقع لبعضهم من مغامرات غرامية، وما سمع من نوادر ولطائف، فجاء بستاناً يحفل بأنواع الثمار ومنوع الأزهار من حكم ومواعظ وعبر وأمثال، وكلها مما يؤنس القلب، ويرتاح إليه الخاطر، وينشرح له صدر القارئ لما فيه من ضروب الأدب، وكلها لذة ومتعة.
فصح في هذا الجزء القول: "إن فيه من كل فاكهة زوجين، وإن الفكر يتنقل من موضوع إلى آخر بدون ملل أو ضجر، فكان مؤلفه عرف كيف ينتخب وينوع، ويجعل بين القصة والقصة نادرة يطمئن إليها الخاطر، ثم ينتقل إلى غيرها فلا ينهيها حتى يرى ما يدفعه إلى قراءة أختها، وهكذا دواليك من مشوق إلى أشواق منه، وما أراد مؤلف الكتاب إلا أن يظهر ناحية من نواحي الحياة الاجتماعية للأمم السالفة، وما كانوا عليه من أمر الحب والزواج وما إلى ذلك.
