تعد تكنولوجيا صناعة المطاط بأنواعه الطبيعي والصناعي والمواد البلاستيكية وغيرها من الصناعات البوليمرات، الناتجة عن المشتقة البتروكيماويات من النفط الخام، هدفاً مهماً للباحثين في هذا المجال وإن تطوير منتجات البتروكيماويات في بلادنا مستقبلاً هدفاً مهماً لتحسين الظروف الإقتصادية لبلادنا في المنطقة، وإن تطوير المنتجات المصانع من المواد والمطاط والبلاستيك وإنشاء بتر كيماويات في بلادنا يتطلب جهود من الباحثون والفنيون والمتخصصون من دكاترة الجامعة والفنيون المختصون من وزارة النفط والصناعة.
وهي خطوة يجب دعمها وتذليل كافة السبل ولإمكانيات تطويرها في هذا الوطن الغالي في شبه الجزيرة العربية (اليمن)، وإن هذا البحث الذي أجريته ما هو إلا ثمرة لدعم تطوير الصناعات المصانع في الجمهورية اليمنية، كما هو مطبق في دول العالم المتقدم، ومن ثم التركيز إنشاء البتر وكيماويات محلياً بجهود أبناء الوطن الغالي.
وأن الصناعات الكيميائية ذات أهمية كبرى في البلدان المتقدمة والتي تشكل منتجاتها الصناعية نسبة عالية من الإنتاج الصناعي بشكل عام، وقد ساهمت هذه المنتجات بشكل فعال في الوصل إلى مستوى الإقتصادي العالمي، تلك البلدان فعاشوا في نعيم، وأن المنتجات البتر وكيماويات، وصناعات البوليمرات مثل: المواد البلاستكية والمطاط الصناعي، هي أهم الركائز الصناعية التي جعلت مصنعاتها سهلة الحمل والنقل ورخيصة الثمن ومريحة، وكذلك الصناعات الأخرى مثل صناعة الصابون والأسمنت والزجاج تحل هذه أيضاً هذه الصناعات في مراتب عالية حيث إن المجتمع وتطوره، التي عرفها الإنسان قديماً مثل هذه الصناعات، والصناعات الأخرى مثل الألياف الصناعية وصناعة الأدوية والمبيدات الحشرية والمطهرات والأصباغ، وغيرها والتي تساعد على العيش للإنسان، وتلعب هذه الصناعات بشكل دوراً بارزاً في تحسين البضائع وتوفير حاجيات المجتمع يوماً بعد يوم.
