منذ عتبة "الإهداء" الأولى في (فصول) تقوم الشاعرة عايشة الفجري بتحديد خصوصية النصوص ونوع المرسل إليه "يا من أدمنت به حاءَ ليلى وجيم قيس هما الحبُ والجنون وعشٌ لن يرحل عني حيث (تكون وأكون) ما يشير إلى اهمية المنزلة التي وصلها الآخر / الرجل في حياتها والذي ترى فيه المثال والوجود و(الإنسان) الذي تفتقده وتشتاق إليه.
وبهذا المعنى تكون الشاعرة قد دخلت الشعر من بوابة (الذات والآخر) وجعلت منه جسد النص، وتفعل ذلك من خلال إستدعائها شخصية تسوية عاشقة في التراث العربي وهي ليلى العامرية وقصتها الشهيرة مع ابن عمها قيس بن الملوح التي انتهت بالفراق، زواجها من رجل آخر وموت قيس على اثر ذلك، إلا أن شاعرتنا حملّت ليلى شجون المرأة المعاصرة لتأخذ تجربتها الشعرية مديات أوسع تتخطى حواجز الزمان إلى صورة أوسع تتوحد فيها مشاعر المرأة قديماً وحديثاً في علاقتها مع الرجل، وبهذا نكون أمام صورة جديدة متفردة للشعر الحديث أبدعتها مخيلة شاعرة عاشقة...
تحت عنوان "ليلى ومجنون بحبها" تقول الشاعرة الفجري: "يا من غرقت فيه سفني عند موانئ الهوى... ومن علمني أن الحب لا يكون إلا... بليلى ومجنون بحبها... أين أسكن لور رحلت عن ليلٍ... رافق أمنيات الهوى الذي جمع قلوبنا... ووحد أرواحنا واحتضن أشواقاً عاشت بنا... أبا قيسُ... أبا قيس إنني أرتوي عن حلاوة عشقك عذب الأمنيات... وينتشي من عبق غرامك وردي... قيس إنني بغرامك قتيلة الوجد...".
يضم الكتاب عدداً من القصائد النثرية جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "دائرة الفراق"، "أبحث عن نفسي"، "القمح يشهد"، "قلمي الرصاص"، "ذاك الغريب"، "أرض توبتي"... وقصائد أخرى.
