الكتاب موجه إلى كل طالب يريد الإلمام باللغة الإنكليزية عن طريق لغته العربية إذ عمد المؤلف إلى سرد النصوص بالعربية مع أمثلة معطاة باللغة الإنكليزية متوخياً في كتابته الأسلوب السهل والترتيب المنسق ومنطقية تتابع القواعد تدرجاً من الاسم حتى مدخل الإنشاء. وقد كرس الكتاب لطلبة المرحلة الابتدائية والمرحلة المتوسطة أو التكميلية وإلى كل من يرغب في تعلم اللغة الإنكليزية مهما كان عمره. والكتاب مؤلف من ثلاثة أبواب: يتناول الباب الأول علم الصرف ليشرح أقسام الكلام وأنواع الكلمات واستعمالها وكل ذلك مدعوم بأمثلة توضيحية وبتمارين تطبيقية وتمارين للمراجعة. الباب الثاني وهو باب النحو، ويدخل في تفاصيل استعمال أقسام الكلام في جمل وفي تفاصيل أنواع العبارات والفقر والجمل وإعراب مفرداتها، كما أنه يحتوي مجموعة كبيرة من نماذج جمل بدءاً من أبسط جملة من كلمتين حتى الجملة المعقدة مع أمثلة وتمارين تطبيقية. أما الباب الثالث فقد جاء بمثابة مدخل للإنشاء ومن خلاله يتعرف الطالب على أنواع الجمل التي تشكل المقطع، وعلى أنواع الكتابة من سرد وعرض وحوار وكتابة الرسائل والتلخيص وأسلوب الكتابة. ولا تتعدى دراسة الإنشاء مرحلة صياغة المنقطع.
