"إن تحفة البلغا في نظام اللغة" لمؤلفه جمال الدين يوسف القاهري هو اختصار لكتاب "نظام الغريب" الجليل الفائدة الصعب اللغة لمؤلفه الإمام اللغوي عيسى بن إبراهيم الرجعي اليمني من أعيان القرن الحادي عشر. وقد اختصره المؤلف جمال الدين واستعمل لغة سهلة مفهومة في عصره، ولم يغير فيها شيئاً خصوصاً الاستشهادات، وإنما طاول التغيير بعض العبارات وحذف منه اليسير اليسير وهذا الكتاب يمثل معجماً في المعاني يتناول الإنسان وصفاته خلقاً وخلقاً... والأشياء كالأطعمة والحليّ وأدوات الحرب... والحيوان من الخيل والإبل والبقر والطير والزواحف والطبيعة مظاهرها خصوصاً ما يتعلق بأسماء الشمس والقمر والظلام والسحاب والمطر والرياح والمياه والعيون والنبات والأشجار.
وتيسيراً لوصول المحتاج إلى الألفاظ اللغوية الموزعة على موضوعاتها، فقد زوّد المحقق المعجم بمسرد لغوي شامل مع أرقام للصفحات كي يتعرف الباحث على الثورة اللغوية والفكرية التي يحتويها هذا المعجم، وكذلك زوده بمسرد للآيات وآخر للمصادر والمراجع اتماماً للفائدة. بحيث جاء هذا المؤلف معجماً للمعاني غنياً بشواهده من القرآن الكريم والحديث النبوي الشريف والشعر العربي والتعابير الاصطلاحية والسياقية...
