هذه الموسوعة ليست كتاباً جديداً يضاف إلى مئات الكتب التي ألفت في السيرة النبوية الشريفة، بل هو موسوعة رتبت فيها أحداث السيرة ترتيباً ألفبائياً، بينما كتب السيرة المتداولة إما أنها أتبعت في سردها السيرة، التسلسل الزمني للأحداث، وهذا منهج الكتب القديمة عموماً، أو أنها اعتمدت تقسيم السيرة بحسب موضوعاتها. وربما أخذت جانباً محدداً من السيرة، فدرسته وحللته، وهذا ما اعتمده معظم المؤلفين المتأخرين والمعاصرين.
والذي دفع المؤلف إلى اعتماد هذا الأسلوب المبتكر في كتابة السيرة، على صعوبته، ظروف العصر وسماته، التي تتطلب الوصول إلى المعلومة المطلوبة بسهولة ويسر، وفي أقل وقت ممكن، فلم يعد وقت الناس، في عصر الفضائيات و"الإنترنيت" يتسع لقراءة المطولات من الكتب.
وبما أن العمل الجماعي، قد يعطي نتائج أفضل، فقد جهد أن يسهم، في هذه الموسوعو، ثلة من أهل الاختصاص، وبخاصة من الذين كتبوا في السيرة، أو درسوها في الجامعات. وقد طلب من الكتاب الاختصار بشكل لا يخل بالمطلوب، والسعي ما أمكن لاستخراج الدروس والعبر ومقارنتها بالواقع المعاصر.
وبالعودة للمنهج المتبع في ترتيب هذه الموسوعة نحو ما يلي: تم ترتيب المواضيع ألفبائياً، وبما أن أهم ما في السيرة الغزوات، والسرايا، والكتب (الرسائل)، والوفود، ولسهولة الوصول إلى المعلومة المطلوبة، فد جمعت الغزوات تحت عنوان غزوة، والسرايا تحت عنوان سرية، والكتب تحت كتاب، والوفود تحت عنوان وفد. الإعلام، اعتمد الأسماء ألفبائياً، تم اختيار أكثر من مئة مرجع، عرف بها في آخر الكتاب، ليستطيع القارئ، الذي يرغب في التعمق في موضوع ما، الرجوع إليها. زود الموسوعة ببعض الخرائط التي توضح المادة المشروحة.
توفر هذه الموسوعة للقارئ المعاصر الوصول إلى المعلومة بسهولة ويسر وسرعة، فهي ليست كتاباً جديداً يضاف إلى عشرات الكتب التي تناولت السيرة النبوية الشريفة.
