وتنقسم الميكانيكا بوجه عام إلى فرعين أساسيين الاستاتيكا والديناميكا التي هي موضوع هذا المؤلف والتي تبحث في وصف الحركة ومقوماتها. فقد قسم الكاتب هذا المؤلف إلى عدة أبواب عالج من خلالها حركة الجسيم في خط مستقيم وفي مستوى، كيناتيكا الجسيم، تطبيقات ديناميكية على حركة الجسيم، الحركة الاهتزازية، حركة المقذوفات، الحركة المقيدة، الدفع والتصادم، حركة الجسيم في مجال قوى مركزية. ومن ثم تناول الكاتب تطبيقات عامة محلولة تعالج حركة المقذوفات، الحركة الاهتزازية، الحركة المقيدة، الحركة الدفعية، التصادم.
