يتألف الكتاب من ثلاثة فصول،يشرح الفصل الأول نظريات ضغط التربة على الحواجز بشكل مفصل مع إدراج بعض الجداول لحساب ثوابت ضغط التربة على الجدران،كما يشرح حساب الزيادة في الضغط الجانبي على الجدران الناتجة عن تطبيق مختلف الحمولات الإضافية على سطح التربة المردومة خلف الجدران.أما الفصل الثاني من الكتاب فيتضمن تصميم مختلف أنواع الجدران الاستنادية الشائعة ابتداء من الجدران الاستنادية الكتلية وانتهاء بجدران الأقبية.أما الفصل الثالث فيحتوي على الجدران الاستنادية المنشأة من الصفائح الوتدية،وقد تم شرح الفرضيات المقترحة من كبار الباحثين وذلك لحساب ضغط التربة على الصفائح الوتدية الظفرية والمثبتة من الأعلى بشدادات تنتهي بكتل بيتونية موضوعة في التربة ،وأخيرا الفرضيات المقترحة لحساب ضغط التربة على الصفائح الوتدية المدعمة مع أمثلة تطبيقية مفصلة.
