إن هذا الثبت الببليوغرافي دليل مفهرس جاد ومصنف لما تمّ تاليفه حول المرأة العربية والمسلمة من نتاج فكري طوال قرن، يمثل هذا الدليل والمشروع الفكري الذي يقف خلفه مدخلاً لإثارة العديد من القضايا والإشكاليات المتعلقة بموقع المرأة من واقع الأمة وتطورها والغايات التي تسعى إليها، المتعلقة أيضاً بالتأسيس الفكري لحقل دراسات المرأة في مرحلة بزوغه وتشكله كحقل علمي وليد، وبموضوع التراث من تأسيس هذا الحقل المعاصر. إن المشروع الفكري المثبت لهذا الثبت يضع قضية المرأة في خضم القضايا المحورية للعصر، والتي ينعكس فيها واقع المجتمعات المسلمة وهي في مخاض المواجهة مع تيارات العولمة تفاعلاً وانفعالاً ثتمثل نبض عصر مؤثر في مسارها ومآلها.
ويأتي هذا التوثيق ليعطي للموضوع أبعاده، ويضعه في سياقاته. فقد كشفت لنا هذه الببليوغرافيا أن الخطاب المعاصر في قضية المرأة وإن كان حديث التشكيل، فإن جذوره تمتد إلى الربع الأخير من القرن التاسع عشر ومطلع القرن العشرين بما مثلته تلك الفترة التاريخية من مفارق طرق في مسارات الأمة وهي مرحلة الصدمة الكبرى في مواجهة الحضارة الغربية وبروز تحديات الحداثة والعصرنة. حيث يشير زخم الأدبيات التي يحويها هذا الثبت عن تلك الفترة أن الخطاب حول المرأة قد مرّ بمراحل من التشكيل والتطور، وجسّد الأطراف التي عنيت به والإشكاليات التي طُرحت آنذاك، وما ولّده التساؤل في وضعية المرأة من تنازعات بين أنساق معرفية موروثة ووافدة. ويقود ذلك للكشف عن العلاقة التطورية بين خطاب تلك الفترة وبين الخطاب المعاصر حول المرأة، وما يعتري الخطاب المعاصر من تنازعات معرفية موازية وربما مطابقة لما عانته جذوره الخطابية في فترات التشكيل.
