مع صوت أذان الفجر الذي مزق سكون الليل وزاد طقساً جنائزياً لهذه "الليلة الحزينة"، قادتني قدماي إلى شارع النهر، حيث منزل حنان الذي يقع على الضفة اليمنى لنهر الفرات.
الضباب ما زال يلف المدينة، والمنازل تبدو وكأنها طافية على سطح النهر... وقفت حزيناً أتأمل ذلك البيت، كان خاوياً على عروشه يلفه السواد وتتدلى منه خيوط اللبلاب وأشجار الكينا اليابسة والتي تبدو مع إهتزاز الرياح كأشباح تمد أياديها وتولول.
أمام المنزل على سفح النهر بقايا أشجار توت وغرب، وتلك الشجرة العجوز التي كان محسن يسند ظهره إليها ويرنو بإتجاه بيت حنان متأملاً رؤيتها.
ما زالت الكلمات التي كتبها على تلك الشجرة حاضرة لم يقو الزمن على محوها "ليروي دمي حقول حبنا الأيدي" وكانت حنان ترنو من طرف النافذة مختلسة النظر إليه، حتى لأكاد أشعر أن ذلك البوح المهيب ما زال صداه يتردد في جنبات المكان.
