في كتابها "حواريون" ترتكز الكاتبة دعاء عبد الله الجميعة على ما جاء في القرآن الكريم بأن عيسى إبن مريم عليه السلام قال: "يا أيها الذين آمنوا كونوا أنصار الله كما قال عيسى ابن ةمريم للحواريين من أنصاري إلى الله قال الحواريون نحن أنصار الله" فأول معنى للحواريين بأنهم أنصار الله وأنصار أنبيائه وأوليائه، فهم الذين نصروا الله وأنبيائه وأخلصوا لهم وصدقوهم.
انطلاقاً من هذا الإيمان تقف المؤلفة على حياة الشخصيات التي رافقت محمداً وأهل بيته عليهم السلام باعتبار أنهم كانوا حواري تلك الفترة من أئمة وأولياء صالحين ناصروا الإسلام ونبيه، حيث قدمت لكل واحد منهم بسيرة عن حياته وما جاء في الأخبار عنه أمثال "حواريو الإمام علي عليه السلام" هم: عمرو بن الحمق الخزاعي ومحمد بن أبي بكر وميثم التمار وأويس القرفي، و"حواريو الإمام الحسن عليه السلام" هما: سفيان الهمذاني وحذيفة بن أسيد الغفاري ... وهكذا.
قدّم للكتاب بكلمة الأستاذ عبد الجليل البن سعد ومما جاء فيها: ".. وفي هذا المشروع الثقافي المبسط (الذي بين أيدينا) تقدم إبنتنا الكريمة (دعاء الجميعة) مجموعة مختارة من تلك القامات الريادية التي صنعت تاريخ الفتوة والقوة، وعبّدت طريق اليقين لمن خلفها فالكاتبة الرائعة تمثل رسول تلك الأرواح، وتصل بينها وبين هذا الجيل، بل قد فتحت بكتابها هذا إذاعة رسالةً، تنقل أصواتهم ومواريثهم وإني لأرجو لقلمها النواص أن يعيد التجربة، ويكرر الإنطلاقة في آفاق أوسع من تراثنا الماجد".
