رغم التحريف الذي اعترى التوراة المعاصرة. وهذا ما يثبته العلم، إلا أن أكثر اليهود يعتقدون بقدسيتها ودوام أحكامها. ويعتقد أهل التوراة فيها أنها نظام حياة وحكم وسلوك لأتباعها عبر الزمن، يستمدّون منها حدود فكرهم، وحدود تصرفاتهم، وحدود أرضهم المزعومة. وهذا ما أكده المؤتمر الصهيوني الأول ببازل في سويسرا حيث قرر أن "إسرائيل ستقوم على حرفية التوراة، وعلى جسر من التوراة".
وبما أننا الآن في أوج غمرة الصراع مع الصهاينة، خاصة بعد عجزهم عن النيل من شريعة الإسلام كما نالوا من غيرها. فمن البديهي أن نعي الأسس التي تنبني عليها مجمل تصوراتهم وأخلاقهم وممارستهم. فما التوراة أو العهد القديم؟ وما هيا لأدلة التي تثبت عدم صحة التوراة المتداولة؟ وما هي علاقة التوراة بالإنجيل أو العهد القديم بالعهد الجديد؟ ثم ما هي المراحل التي مرّ بها هذا الكتاب؟
