والقصص في القرآن يمتاز بسمو غاياته وشريف مقاصده، فهو يهدف النفوس ويجمل الطباع، ويعلم الحوار والاعتبار، ويخبر عن أقوام هدوا فمكن الله لهم في الأرض، وأقوام ضلوا فساءت حالهم وخربت ديارهم، ووقع عليهم العذاب والنكال، ومن يتعمق بفهم ثاقب يجد عبر القصص شاهد حي بأخبار الأمم السابقة وما حدث لها.
ويعرف بها نعم الله على من يشاء من خلقه، وتنبيه أبناء آدم من غواية الشيطان كقصة بني آدم، وعاقبة الكفر النقم، كقصة صاحب الجنتين وسد مآرب، ومن عبر القصص، أن الله ينصر من نصر دينه ويخذل من خذل دينه، ويهدي الله المؤمنين ويعاقب المجرمين.
ومن هذا المنطلق كان الباعث لـ"علي الله بن علي أبو الوفا" لتأليف هذا الكتاب الذي حرص عند تأليفه له على أن يدونه بأسلوب سهل ومبسط وهدفه من ذلك أن يحبب إلى المسلمين أسلوب الموعظة القصصية في القرآن، وأن ييسر قراءتها، حتى تكون سبيلاً إلى تصحيح العقائد ومقاومة الزيغ، ومحاربة الفساد.
