في هذا الكتاب دراسة تفصيلية في بيان صفات عباد الرحمن، مع الكثير من آيات أخر من كتاب الله عز وجل موزعة في القرآن الكريم فيها دلالات بينات وواضحات أحياناً، أو إشارات لعباد الرحمن وصفاتهم، قصد منها أن تكون دراسة تفصيلية لعباد الله (عباد الرحمن) وصفاتهم من خلال تفسير الآيات القرآنية المتعلقة بهذا الموضع.
هذا ولم يتوسع المؤلف في جانب اللغويات والبلاغيات والنحويات، واختصر الحديث عن جوانب الإعجاز القرآني فيها، لأن هدفه من هذه الدراسة يتمثل بتوجيه القارئ المسلم للإقتداء بعباد الرحمن والتحلي بصفاتهم، وما هو معلوم بالضرورة أن العمل بكتاب الله والتزام أوامره واجتناب نواهيه لهو الغرض الأساسي من تدبر آياته وسوره.
وقد استند في كتابته لهذا الكتاب إلى أمهات كتب التفسير مثل ابن كثير والطبري والقرطبي وفي ظل القرآن والزمخشري، واعتمد على التفسير بالمأثور مقدماً إياه على غيره، ثم كان ثانياً على سنة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأقوال الخلفاء الراشدين والصحابة الكرام والتابعين واستأنست بأقوال المخلصين من أهل المعاصرين، واستعان بما وقع بين يدي من مؤلفات قديمة وحديثة، وكان اختياره لهذه المؤلفات محكوماً بالمنهج الذي يعلن عنه عنوان هذا الكتاب.
