الإفتراض اللغوي ظاهرة عامة بين اللغات، وإرتحال الكلم فيما بينها واحدة من المسلمات، وهو من آثار إلتقاء الحضارات والثقافات، وإذا كان النقاء العرقي - اليومَ - متعذراً فإن النقاء اللغوي أكثر تعذراً.
عرفت اللغة العربية منذ نشوئها هذه الظاهرة، فأخذت من غيرها وأعطت، وأثَّرت وتأثَّرت، ولم يخل عصر من عصورها من كلمات وافدة، كُيِّف بعضها مع خصائص اللسان العربي فغدا (معرَّباً) مقيماً، وقاوم بعضها التكيُّفَ فظلَّ (دخيلاً) ما لبث أن رحل، أو أقام على مضض.
وإذا كان (المعرَّب) المقيم قد أسهم في نماء العربية وزاد من مخزونها، فإن (الدخيل) الراحل لم يخل من فائدة، ذلك أنه قدم المشاهد والدليل على ما لا تسيغه أذن العربي وما لا يتقبله اللسان العربي.
صحيحٌ أن تعاظم الحاجة إلى المصطلحات الأجنبية وكثرتها جعل الإقتراض اللغوي بنوعيه (تعريباً وتدخيلاً) مما لا غنى عنه اليوم، ولكن الصحيح أيضاً أن ترك أبواب العربية مفتوحة لكل كلمة وافدة ودون ضوابط، سوف يؤدي إلى مخاطر لا قبل للغتنا بتحملها.
وأهم هذه الضوابط:
أ-إعطاء الأفضلية - في طرق وضع المصطلح - لطريقة التوليد اللغوي، على طريقة التعريب اللفظي أو الصوتي.
ب-إتباع منهجية محددة للتعريب اللفظي أو الصوتي عندما تلجيء إلى ذلك الضرورة، بما يقربها من نسيج الكلمة العربية ويقلل بالتالي من مخاطر الإفتراض.
وفي محاولة للإسهام بوضع منهجية لتعريب الألفاظ الأجنبية، مستقاة من خصائص العربية، كان هذا البحث الذي نتوقع أن يكون إضافة جادة لمباحث تعريب.
