مجموعة من هذه النصوص كُتبت في أواخر الثمانينيات وبداية التسعينيات من القرن الماضي، وهي الفترة التي صعد فيها التيار الإسلاموي بقوَّة، ولم يكن صعوده في الجزائر صدفة أو وليد تلك اللحظة، إنما كان هذا التيار موجوداً من قبل وبرز بوضوح خلال معاداته النهج الإشتراكي.
حيث وُظَّف الإسلام بشكل مفضوح لرفض الإشتراكية وللوقوف ضد "المد الشيوعي"، وكان النظام يحاول أن يشدَّ شعرة معاوية بين أنصار الإشتراكية وخصومهم، بل أخذ يفسح لهم في المجال ليتمكَّن - بواسطة المراجعة - من التراجع عن السياسة السابقة واستمرَّ يقدم التنازلات المتتالية للتيار الإسلاموي إلى أنْ كوَّن - هذا الأخير - جيشاً موازياً للجيش الوطني الشعبي وأعلن الحرب على الدولة والمجتمع.
وبالنظر إلى أن النسبة الكبيرة من المواطنين هم من الأميين وأنصاف المتعلِّمين، فقد سهَّل على الإسلامويين أنَّ يستعملوا ضد خصومهم ترسانة من الأحكام المسبقة وجدوها جاهزة وهي آلية ما زالت تشتغل إلى الآن، لذلك لا أتوقَّع قبولاً لهذه المقالات، بقدر ما وطَّنتُ نفسي منذ كتابتها على ما هو أقسى من الشتم والسباب.
فالركون إلى المسلَّمات ورفض الرأي الآخر ولو كان صائباً، هو موقف ليس غريباً على مجتمعاتنا، إذ عادة ما لا يرضى الناسُ إلا بما ألفوه، وقد عبر عنه (فرج فودة) في مقدمة كتابه "الحقيقة الغائبة" بالقول: "هذا حديث سوف ينكره الكثيرون، لأنهم يودون أن يسمعوا ما يحبون، فالنفس تأنس لما تهواه، وتتعشق ما استقرت عليه، ويصعب عليها أن تستوعب غيره، حتى لو تبينت أنه الحق، أو توسمت أنه الحقيقة، وأسوأ ما يحدث لقارئ هذا الحديث، أن يبدأه ونفسه مسبقة بالعداء، أو متوقعة للتجني، وأسوأ منه موقف الرفض مع سبق الإصرار للتفكير واستعمال العقل".
إنهم أولئك الذين يحتكرون التفسير والفتوى، وينصّبون أنفسهم - باسم الدين - أوْصياء على البشرية جمعاء.
لكني - رغم ذلك - لم أتوقَّف عن البحث في التراث، الامر الذي كنت أجد فيه متعة وفائدة أيضاً، خاصة وأن البلد أصبحت تتنازعه أحزاب سياسية كل منها يدَّعي تمثيل الهوية المفقودة، ولكنها تنتهي جميعاً إلى تطويق هذه الهوية وتمزيقها.
