هذا الكتاب ترجمة كاملة لأشهر القراء الإمام أبي القاسم الشاطبي صاحب المنظومة التي طارت كل مطار حرز الأماني ووجه التهاني, بقلم عالم مقرئ متفنن, جمع فيها سيرة الإمام: نشأته ورحلته, شيوخه وتلاميذه, معارفه وعلومه, عناية العلماء بآثاره, مع فوائد علمية, ونكات طريفة, فهو مرجع لا يستغنى عنه في معرفة هذا الإمام. ويتحدث الباب الأول عن التعريف به, والثاني في مولده ونشأته, والثالث في ذكر ثناء الأئمة عليه, ثم في شهادة الناس بولايته, والخامس في تآليفه, والسادس في ذكر أسانيد المؤلف إلى القصيدتين اللامية والرائية, والسابع في ذكر شرحهما, والثامن فيمن أخذ العلم عنه, ثم في وفاته, والعاشر في ذكر أحاديث عوالي رواها المؤلف من طريق الإمام الشاطبي.
الإمام المقرئ المحدث المتفنن شهاب الدين أحمد بن محمد القسطلاني الشافعي المتوفي سنة 923 رحمه الله تعالى صاحب شرح البخاري و المواهب اللدنية في المنح النبوية و غيرها.
