إن الدائرة الدلالية التي تتحرك فيها الأفعال في (نقوش) المجموعة القصصية الجديدة للقاص ساعد الخميسي، تتجه ثيماتها نحو عنصر الحيرة والشتات، والإيجاب والسلب في حركة دائرية ناجمة عن رؤية القاص للوجود، وتجسيده إياها عبر الشخوص، الذين يدورون في حلقة مفرغة، واحد منهم ينتهي إلى تيه في ظلام الليل "حلق ببراعة، تحمّس واندفع مجتازاً للسحب، الأرض تكسوها العتمة .."، وفم ينشطر بمجرد أن يهم بقضم تفاحة "يهمّ بقضم التفاحة / ينشط فمه لطابقين، علوي وسفلي / تبقى التفاحة معلقة للذي يليه ..!" ولوحة تتحدى مسماراً "مسمار يشنق لوحة الرسوم الفاتنة، تتمرد اللوحة وتسقط" ، وهدايات لم تكن في أفق انتظار عروسين جديدين "عاد العروسان إلى عشهما الصغير قادمين من شهرهما الأول / ... / فتحت الزوجة صندوقاً فوجدت منظاراً له عدسات مختلفة الحجم / وفي الصندوق الآخر كشف الزوج عن (عقالٍ غليظ)" ، وهكذا يطغى على النص عنصر التصوير الذي ينحرف بالعبارات إلى عوالم أخرى، فيها الكثير من الجاذبية والتأويل والبحث عن المعنى الكامن وراء الصورة ...
كُتبت هذه المجموعة بين عامي 2007-2014م، نذكر من العناوين :"تحليق مقرر" ، "أنف" ، "غواية" ، "إنحناءة" ، "عِتاد" ، "جدار الدهشة" ، "خُطى" ، "وسائط" ، "طمأنينة" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
"أوصدت كل نوافذ الوصل بينهما، وتكبدت لظى اللهفة بالتجلد... عَشِقتْ كل حرف ينثال من لسانه، قَدِم لها بقلب تسكنه، ففردت كفيها... وحال بينهما سياج الظروف... بدمع قانئ قالت: سأتزوج، ومضت بحرقة... وغير بعيد ذُهلت من مرويات زوجها عنه: إنه أقرب صديق، وعليَّ أن ألتقيه يومياً...
