فكما نعلم أن هذه الرقعة من الأرض والتي ترسم على الخريطة باسم الوطن العربي الممتدة بحدودها من الخليج العربي شرقاً غلى المحيط الأطلسي غرباً والذي يضم البلاد العربية المنتشرة بخط حدودي واحد بين الخليج والمحيط من قارتي آسيا وأفريقيا.
ونظراً لما لهذه الرقعة من تاريخ حضاري عريق شهد ميلاد أقدم الحضارات على وجه الأرض المتمثلة بتاريخ وعراقة مدنه، فمنذ عصور ما قبل التاريخ الماثلة أماكما بحضارة بلاد ما بين النهرين والتي أنجبت أقدم قانون تشريعي على وجه الأرض هو قانون حمورابي إلى وادي النيل وحضارة الفراعنة الخالدة، من حضارة سبأ ومعين إلى حضارة الفينيقيين على سواحل البحر المتوسط في لبنان وقرطاج، ومن حضارة الأنباط في البتراء إلى مملكة تدمر إلى الحضارة العربية والإسلامية الحاضرة الآن ما هي إلا أدلة شاهدة وماثلة أمامنا تروي لنا عظمة التاريخ وعظمة الأرض وعظمة الإنسان صانع هذا لتاريخ وصانع هذه الحضارات التي كانت مناراً ونبراساً يرشد حضارات العالم كافة.
ففي الوقت الذي لم تؤهل فيه مناطق أوروبا وأمريكا بالسكان كانت حضارات العرب في قمتها وأوجها، وما هذا الكتاب إلا شاهد على ذلك ليعود بالقراء إلى تلك العصور الشاهدة على أمجاد العرب ومدنهم وحضاراتهم فبالعالم والمعرفة نصل إلى هدفنا وغايتنا من خلال البحث والإطلاع لتوسيع أفقنا وثقافتنا والوقوف على الأثر العظيم والخدمات الجليلة التي قدمها العرب بعصورهم المختلفة للبشرية جمعاء.
