إن أبرز ما اتسمت به أعمال أديب نحوي من مجمل الإبداع العربي, إخلاص كل منها لحدث بعينه. باستثناء المجموعة القصصية الأولى (كأس ومصباح) المعنية بقضايا اجتماعية وإنسانية عامة، فإن الأغلب الأعم من نصوص المجموعة الثانية (من دم القلب) مكرس للنضال الوطني ضد الاحتلال الفرنسي لسورية ولنكبة فلسطين، وتخلص رواية متى يعود المطر لبدايات الوحدة السورية المصرية, وتعنى نصوص مجموعة حتى يبقى العشب أخضر كافة لمرحلة الانفصال, وكذا تفعل رواية جومبي, وعدد من نصوص حكايا للحزن, وتوثق رواية عرس فلسطيني للنصف الثاني من ستينيات القرن العشرين, أي انطلاقة الكفاح الفلسطيني المسلح, وينصرف معظم نصوص قد يكون الحب للقضية الفلسطينية أيضاً, وغيرها من الأعمال الرائعة التي تبرز براعة مبدعها في تقديم الشخصيات الكفاحية فيها, وسواها أيضاً, بمهارة فائقة, وفي تصويرها, وتتبع مصائرها، وتحويلها من كائنات لفظية بامتياز الى كائنات حية تتحرك أما عيني القارىء بامتياز أيضاً. لقد نذر المؤلف حياته وأدبه للدفاع عن قضايا المغمورين من الناس, وعن القضايا الكبرى للوطن والأمة, وكان هدفه أن ينور ويثير في قرائه رغبة التغيير في الواقع حولهم.
أديب بن محمود نحوي: ولد في مدينة حلب, في حي باب المقام, سنة 1926, انتسب الى مدرسة التجارة الإعدادية بحلب, وتخرج فيها, ثم عمل في مقهى الكميني وحصل خلال عمله على شهادتي الإعدادية العامة والثانوية العامة بالدراسة الحرة, ثم على إجازة الحقوق من الجامعة السورية عام 1951, عضو اتحاد الكتاب العرب/ جمعية القصة والرواية. كما أعد عدداً من نصوصه القصصية أعمالاً تلفزيونية.
