وصلتني رسالة إلكترونية أولها سب وآخرها شتم، ومع السطور الأخيرة من الرسالة كانت يداي ترتجفان، واتخذت قراري بالتوقف عن الكتابة، لكن كان لا بد من أخذ الإذن بالتوقف من معلمي، فاتصلت به وأخبرته، فقال: إذا كنت تريد أن تبكي بسبب رسالة، فاترك الكتابة تذهب في حال سبيلها، فهذه الحرفة لا تناسب من لم يكن جلده مثل جلد التمساح الذي لا يتأثر بشيء، ولم يكن عناده مثل عناد البغل الذي لا يتزحزح من مكانه.
وبعد فترة، اتصلت بمعلمي وألمحت له بأنني سأترك الكتابة بسبب مشادة كلامية حصلت بيني وبين محرر الصحيفة هذه المرة، فقال بعد فاصل من «التهزيء» الأبوي: كل العاملين في الصحف سيتقاعدون يوماً، والكاتب هو الوحيد الذي سيبقى.
