وفي هذا الكتاب "الأعلاق النفسية" يعرض المؤلف لأمر الفلك وصفته فيذكر الكثير مما دونه العلماء عن الأرض وهيئتها، وما ذكره أهل الملل في دورها بجميع ما فيها من الكواكب. كما يتحدث عن الأرض بجميع أجزائها من البر والبحر، ويخصص فصولاً للحركتين الأوليتين من حركات السماء اللتين أحديهما حركة للكل التي بها يكون الليل والنهار من المشرق إلى المغرب والأخرى حركة الكواكب التي ترى لها في فلك البروج من المغرب إلى المشرق.
ويقدم المؤلف وصفاً للمدن والحواضر العربية يبدأها بذكر مكة وأحوالها وبنائها وصفتها، ثم يفرغ من بعد إلى ذكر الأوائل الذين أحدثوا الأشياء الذين اقتدى بهم فيها، وأسماء المشبهين برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم والمسمين باسمه في الجاهلية والمحمدين الذين كانوا على عهد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم. كما يذكر صناعات الأشراف وأديان العرب في الجاهلية وأصحاب المذاهب في الإسلام.
