هذا الكتاب الذي نقدم له، إحدى ثمرات الجهد الذي قام به علماؤنا في شرح كلامه صلى الله عليه وسلم واستخراج معانيه، فقد قام فيه شيخ الإسلام الإمام تقي الدين السبكي بمحاولة استخراج الأحكام والقواعد والفوائد والحكم التي انطوى عليها حديث: "رفع القلم عن ثلاثة..." وقد أسفرت هذه المحاولة عن إخراج هذا الكتاب الذي أسماه مصنفه: "إبراز الحكم، من حديث رفع القلم".
وقد تناول المصنف الكلام على الحديث من وجوه بلغت ثمانية وثلاثين وجهاً، وذلك من حيث علم الحديث واللغة والفقه والأصول وغيرها، وهو إذا تكلم في جزئية من جزئيات هذه العلوم ظننت أنه لا يدري شيئاً إلا عن هذا العلم، ولكنه لإمامته وعلو منزلته جمع بين كل العلوم جمع المتقن لها المحقق فيها، وهذا مما زاد الكتاب أهمية، فإن الحديث المشروح يعطي الكتاب أهمية، لما يندرج تحته من أحكام كثيرة، وتناول السبكي -بالذات- للحديث بالشرح زاده أهمية أخرى.
