الكتاب شرح مبسّط لمخارج الحروف وصفاتها، وعرض لأحكام التجويد برواية حفصٍ عن عاصم من طريق الشاطبيّة، وقد استشهدت فيه بأبيات من المقدّمة الجزريّة للإمام شمس الدِّين محمّد بن محمّد الجزريّ الدمشقيّ، بغية تثبيتِ الأحكام وجعلِها أسهلَ حفظاً وأشدّ رسوخاً في الأذهان، وذيّلتُ بعض الأبيات بإيضاح موجز أفدته من شرح المقدّمة الجزريّة لشيخ الإسلام زكريّا الأنصاريّ.
كما وضّحت أحكام التجويد وقواعده بكثير من الأمثلة والتعليلات التي تزيل الغموض عن بعض العبارات، وضمّنت الكتاب ملخّصات توضيحيّة لتثبيت تلك المعلومات.
