في مجموعتها الشعرية "لو تعلمين" سارة عبد الرحمن من الذات في توحد جمعي مع جمهور المتلقين، مشاركة إياهم وحدة الذات والوجع والطفولة والحلم، كل هذه الثيمات، جعلتها الشاعرة مفصل مركزي للنص ترتكز عليه في دلالاته الرمزية، التي استدعت بنية لغوية مختارة، مشحونة بمعانٍ إنسانية رفيعة، مع الإهتمام بالزخرف والبيان الجمالي.
في القصيدة "لو تعلمين!" تتوجه الشاعرة (إلى أختي الصغيرة) وتقول:
فيمَ انتظاركِ؟ / يا قطعة من رحيقٍ وسكّرْ؟! / كلّ صباح .. بأجمل طرقٍ .. تدقين بابي / وتندفعينَ فضولاً شغوفاً / فتورقُ من خطواتك داري / وتختبرين ربطة شعري / كعبَ حذائي / حجمَ كتابي / وتبتسمين بشوقٍ عنيفٍ أمام ثيابي / ولحظك يرسلُ نحوي حديثاً (...) يحيّرُ لبّ الصغار ... ويسحرْ (...)".
هذه عوالم الشاعرة، التي تبدو جزءاً من سيرة شخصية، تتأمل فيها علاقتها بالأشياء والعالم، أن حساسية نزع المعاني عن العالم كانت الشغل الشاغل لرؤيتها الشعرية مع التنويع والثراء في المضامين وخلق جدلية شعرية جديدة نقرأها كلما توغلنا في قصائد المجموعة.
يضم الكتاب (34) قصيدة تراوحت بين الشعر العربي الموزون والمقفى (شعر التفعيلة) والشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "بين عينين" ، "أتعرف؟"، "لم أهمسْ بسمعيها" ، "يمرح في الأحلام" ، "جسرٌ من التعب" ، "عودة" ، "لو تعلمين!" ، "رغبة في الغربة" ، "لا تبك" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
