تهدف هذه السلسلة إلى تعليم الأطفال التفكير، وأساليب المحاكمة العقلية، وكيفية الوصول إلى القرار الأمثل لحل المشكلات، وذلك بتحديد المشكلة ثم التشاور، وتجريب الحل وقبوله أو تعديله أو رفضه وتغييره، بناء على التجربة.
ولتحقيق هذا الهدف، يعرض الكاتب في كل قصة نمطا من سلوك حيوان أو مجموعة حيوانات في مواجهة مشكلة، وكيفية الوصول إلى حلها حلا صحيحا . والمشكلات التي تتحدث عنها القصص هي مشكلات حقيقية نابعة من واقع الحيوانات، عرضها الكاتب بأسلوب جذاب شيق للأطفال الذين تخاطبهم السلسلة، والذين تتراوح أعمارهم من السابعة إلى الثانية عشرة. ومن المفيد أن ننوه هنا أن علماء الأحياء بدءوا يعتقدون مؤخراً أن عبارة (الغريزة) لا تكفي لتفسير سلوك الحيوانات، وأنهم بدءوا يميلون إلى القول بأن الحيوانات تفكر، وبدأت الكتب تصدر لتأييد هذا القول.
ولذا، وانسجاماً مع آخر نظريات تفسير سلوك الحيوانات، وتحقيقاً لهدف تربوي أساس وهو (تعليم حل المشكلات) تصدر هذه السلسلة...
