من هنا كان من الضروري أن يدخل اقتصاد المنزل في جميع البرامج الإنمائية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية التي يجب أن تهتم بجميع الفئات والقطاعات دون تمييز بين الرجال والنساء والشباب والأطفال، حيث كانت خدمات الرعاية الاجتماعية إلى وقت قريب تهتم بالرجل أكثر من اهتمامها بالمرأة، مما أدى إلى اتساع الهوة بين المستوى الذي وصل إليه الرجل ومستوى المرأة، وما من شك في أن هذا يعرقل عمليات التنمية ويعوق سبيل النهوض بالمجتمعات المحلية، وخاصة في الريف حيث مكانة المرأة منذ القديم دون مكانة الرجل، على الرغم من أهمية وخطورة الدور الذي تقوم به في حياة المجتمع. في دراستي هذه حاولت تسليط الضوء على واقع المرأة الريفية ومدى مساهمتها في شتى مجالات الاقتصاد المنزلي، والتعريف بهذا العلم الواسع على اعتبار أنها أول دراسة ميدانية تتناول الاقتصاد المنزلي في سورية.
