يعد هذا الكتاب من أعظم ما ألف في ناسخ الحديث ومنسوخه, لأهميته وشرفه وشدة الاحتياج إليه لمعرفة الحلال والحرام, وفيه بيان كيفية الحكم على الحديث بأنه منسوخ. وذلك بأن يكون لفظ الحديث مصرحاً بذلك , أن يعلم تاريخ المتقدم والمتأخر أي الناسخ والمنسوخ, الاجماع على النسخ في حكم معين. وفيه بيان أن عدد المنسوخ من الأحاديث (21) حديثاً. ومن سمع بخبر يدعى عليه النسخ وليس في كتابه ذلك, فليعلم وهاء تلك الدعوى.
