مع ظهور الدعوة الإسلامية انطلقت المرأة العربية إلى رحاب الإنسانية، بعد أن حررها الإسلام من قيود الجاهلية، ومنحها حقها الطبيعي في الحياة الحرة الكريمة، وحق المساواة التامة مع الرجل وهذا يدخل فيه: الحقوق الإنسانية، والاجتماعية، والأسرية، وحق التفاضل وحق الشرع. كما تمتعت في ظل هذا النظام الاجتماعي في الإسلام بحق استقلاليتها الاقتصادية وحقوقها السياسية ويمثل حقها في الشورى وتقلد المناصب السياسية العامة في مجتمعها جانباً منه.
وفي هذا الكتاب يلقي المؤلف الضوء على هذه الحقوق ويبسطها ويربطها بواقعها وذلك بهدف الإحاطة بمكانة المرأة في الإسلام لوضعه في دائرة الضوء للعامة والخاصة. وقد قسم المؤلف موضوعه إلى فصول، بيّن في الفصل الأول ملامح الحياة الاجتماعية العربية قبل بزوغ شمس الإسلام عارضاً من ثم لحال العرب بعد الإسلام وكيف أصبحوا بإسلامهم في مقام القيادة والريادة. منتقلاً في الفصل الثاني لبيان آداب تنظيم المعاملات والعلاقات بين أفراد المجتمع الجديد، مستمداً ذلك من أحكام الشريعة الإسلامية السميحة، معرضاً بعد ذلك إلى أحكام الأسرة الإسلامية على ضوء القواعد الشرعية في تنظيم الأسرة الإسلامية، مبيناً من ثم أن الإسلام أباح الطلاق على أنه ضرورة موضحاً قيوده وضوابطه في الشرع، مورداً في الفصل الرابع حقوق المرأة في الإسلام مؤيداً أقواله بالآيات الكريمة والأحاديث الشريفة الصحيحة. مختتماً أبحاثه بعرض الحقوق السياسية والشورى في الإسلام، وكيف أن الله سبحانه اعتمد الشورى في حل المشاكل الحياتية، واختار الحلول المناسبة تجاه تطورات الأحداث.
