اشتمل كتاب الرافعي الشرح الكبير شرح وجيز حجة الإسلام أبي حامد الغزالي الذي جاء في أبواب الفقه والذي احتوى على غالب ما في كتب الأصحاب من الأقوال والوجوه والطرق وعلى ألوف من الأحاديث والآثار تنيف على أربعة آلاف بمكررها بيّنها الحافظ بن الملقن في مصنفه "خلاصة البدر المنير" بجزئيه الذي جمع بين علمي الفقه والحديث، والذي هو بين أيدينا بيّن هذه الأحاديث على حسب أنواعها من الصحة والحسن والضعف والاتصال والإرسال والإعضال والانقطاع والقلب والغرابة والشذوذ والنكرة والتعليل والوضع والإدراج والاختلاف والناسخ والمنسوخ، إلى غير ذلك من علومه الجمة كضبط ألفاظ وأسماء وتفسير غريب وإيضاح مشكل وجمع متن أحاديث متعارضة والجواب عنها. وقد أخرجه حمدي إسماعيل بحلة معاصرة حيث عمل على تحقيقه وفق الأصول المنهجية لهذا العمل.
