يعد كتاب الشيخ "محمد بن عبد الوهاب" كتاب التوحيد الذي هو حق الله على العبيد" من أعظم المؤلفات في باب توحيد الألوهية والذي هو إفراد الله بالعبادة وترك عبادة ما سواه والبراءة من ذلك، وبيان ما يناقضه من الشرك الأكبر، أو ينقص كما له الواجب أو المستحب من الشرك الأصغر. هذا وقط خص الشيخ هذا النوع من التوحيد لأنه هو الذي يدخل في الإسلام، وينجي من عذاب القبر، وهو التوحيد الذي بعثت به الرسل وأنزلت به الكتب، وخالف فيه المشركون ي كل زمان ومكان.
وفي هذا الإطار أورد المصنف في كل باب من أبواب كتابة آيات من القرآن الكريم وأحاديث من السنة الصحيحة السند أو المعنى، وكلام أهل العلم الأئمة، الذين بينوا معاني هذه الآيات وهذه الأحاديث، ثم إنه يذكر في آخر كل باب ما يستفاد من الآيات والأحاديث التي أوردها فيه من مسائل العقيدة، مما يعتبر فقهاً لنصوص الباب، بحيث يخرج القارئ بحصيلة علمية جيدة من كل باب.
كتاب التوحيد للشيخ صالح بن الفوزان يبحث في باب التوحيد وأقسامه وما يتعلق به، وهذا شرح عليه للشيخ محمد بن صالح العثيمين، حيث تناول ألفاظه ووضّح معانيه بشكل مفصّل وميسّر، وزاد في أدلته الشرعية من الكتاب والسُنَّة، وأورد أقوال العلماء من أهل السُّنة والجماعة.
