كتاب "القواعد" هو من الكتب المهمة التي صنفت في الفقه وتبين أهميته إذا علم أنه مأخوذ من كتاب "المجموع المُذَهّب في قواعد المذهب" لصلاح الدين العلائي المتوفي سنة 761هـ. وكتاب المجموع المُذَهّب هو من أجل ما كتب في القواعد الفقهية في المذهب الشافعي. وقد اشتمل على شرح القواعد الفقهية الخمس الكبرى، والتي ذكر بعض العلماء أن مسائل الفقه ترجع إليها. حيث اشتمل على عدد من قواعد ومباحث وأصول الفقه، مع تخريج الفروع عليها. إلى جانب ذلك فقد اشتمل على عدد من قواعد الفقه، مع بيان بعض صورها المندرجة فيها. ويمكن التنويه بأن أصل هذه الطبعة رسالتا ماجستير تقدم بهما المحققان للحصول على درجة الماجستير في قسم أصول الفقه بكلية الشريعة بالرياض. وقد جاء الكتاب المحقق هذا ضمن أربعة أجزاء، جاء عمل المحققان فيه ضمن أسلوب علمي بمنهج روعي في أثنائه سبل التحقيق المعاصرة.
