يضم الكتاب مساهمات عدد من الكتاب والباحثين العرب والمسلمين تعبر عن آراء النخب في الدائرة العربية-الإسلامية في مقولة "صدام الحضارات". فكانت هناك مساهمات لكل من الدكتورين وجيه كوثراني ومحجوب عمر، ومساهمة للمفكر الإسلامي السوداني الدكتور حسن الترابي وقد أضيفت نظراً لأهميتها في محاولة تأطير الحوار بين الإسلام والغرب. كما أضيفت نصوص أخرى أحدها لصاموئيل هانتنتون بعنوان "الغرب فريد وليس عالمياً" يحاول فيه إظهار موقع الحضارات العالمية الأخرى وعدم ضرورة تمثلها بالحضارة الغربية رغم اقتباسها لبعض مظاهرها الحديثة في العلوم والتكنولوجيا. والثاني نص الكلمة التي ألقاها رئيس الجمهورية الإسلامية في إيران السيد محمد خاتمي أمام الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة وحملة عنوان "حوار الحضارات". أما النصوص الأخرى فهي لفريتز ستيبات، أستاذ الدراسات الإسلامية بجامعة برلين بعنوان "المنظومة الإبراهيمية للحوار"، وللباحث العراقي عصام العامدي، بعنوان "الثقافة والديموقراطية في مواجهة العولمة" وللباحث سويم العزي حول "مستقبل الديموقراطية بين نهاية التاريخ وصراع الحضارات". وأخيراً نص للباحث المصري الدكتور محمد سليم العوا بعنوان: "حوار الحضارات: شروطه ونطاقه".
