تلك الهجرة الوادعة التي قطف فيها أزهار طفولته، وقضى بين أزقتها ربيع عمره.... فوق أسطح منازلهم كان الأطفال ينامون ملء جفونهم... كانوا يعدون الطائرات غدواً ورواحاً... تزامنت عودته إلى الرياض مع حدث جلل... طائرة مدنية تحترق في سماء وأرض مطار العاصمة السعودية....
امتلأت صفحات الجرائد بالحديث عن الأطفال والشيوخ والنساء، الذين ظلوا يترقبون قبساً من الضوء وسط "أنبوب" الطائرة المظلم...
اعتذر المذيع "الشهير" عن قراءة الخبر، وتغيب زميله "الأشهر" مساء ذلك اليوم... لا أحد يريد قراءة الاخبار المفجعة...
الناس - كل الناس - يتحدثون عن قصص ومشاهدات لم تكن أبداً من نسيج خيالهم... في مكة وجدة والرياض خلت بعض المنازل من أهلها وفقدت منازل أخرى بعض شموعها... كل الأخبار كانت تصب في أذن وقلب وعين ذلك الطفل الصغير، الذي ظل تأثير الحادثة في قلبه وعقله طيلة ثمان وثلاثين عاماً...
ما أن طرق جيل ال "سوشل ميديا" أبواب الألفية الثالثة، إلا وآن لذلك الطفل الذي شب وربما شاب، وهو يتطلع إلى توثيق قصة اللحظات الأخيرة لوفاة أكثر من ثلاثمائة إنسان في كتاب سوف تحمل الصفحة الأخيرة منه إجابة لأسئلة عديدة مفادها.... ما الذي دعاك إلى البحث في حادثة "الترايستار"؟...
