يعد كتاب "ألفية ابن مالك" لمؤلفه محمد بن عبد الله بن مالك الأندلسي، من أشهر كتب اللغة العربية وأهمها؛ إذ يحتوي على قواعد اللغة العربية: نحوها، وصرفها، بأسلوب شعري يبلغ عدد أبياته ألف بيت وبيتين، الغاية من نظمها تسهيل حفظ قواعد اللغة العربية. وقد اختار ابن مالك مذهب البصريين نهجاً لألفيته التي هي في الأساس خلاصة "الكافية الشافية" التي أنشأها في ألفين وسبعمائة وسبعة وخمسين بيتاً من الرجز. وقد حاول محقق هذا الكتاب أن ييسر في هذه الطبعة التي بين أيدينا قواعد هذه الألفية الشعرية" كما وعني بتجزئتها وإرفاقها ببعض الإيضاحات والعناوين الجانبية التفصيلية لموضوعاتها المؤلفة من حوالي تسعة وسبعين موضوعاً.
اللغة العربية در ظاهر ومكنون... وحتى نحافظ على هذا الدر، فإنه يتوجب علينا أن نحافظ على الصدفة التي تحتضن هذا الدر، وتفرزه، أي: نحافظ على قواعد اللغة العربية سليمة من أي خطأ أو لغو أو تشويه.
