ذكر المؤلف في هذه الرسالة كيف ينبغي على المسلم أن يذكر الله تعالى كما شرع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وندد بالذين اتخذوا الرقص بالذكر والتكسر والتمايل ديناً، واعتقدوه تديناً، وخلطوا العبادة باللعب، يأخذ بعضهم بيد بعض، ويتحلقون ويدورون محركين أيديهم ورؤوسهم.
وقد نهى عنه الأئمة في كتبهم، وذكر أن الإمام القرطبي قال: الغناء وضرب القضيب والرقص حران عند مالك والشافعي وأحمد.
فالصوفية يذكرون الله تعالى بالرقص والدف والغناء، ويسمونها (الحضرة)، وهو مصطلح عند الصوفية يعني الاجتماع على ذكر الله تعالى بالرقص على شكل حلقة، يكون الشيخ في وسطها، ويحركهما بالرقص والحركات، يبدؤون بذكر الله باللفظ المفرد (الله) وهو ذكر ناقص، ثم عندما يشتد الرقص، يتحول اسم الله تعالى إلى (هو) ثم لا تسمع بعدها إلى همهمة لا تعرف معناها، ثم يكون الصراخ والقفز في الهواء.
بعد ذلك رد المؤلف على الأدلة التي استشهد بها الصوفية في جوازها.
ثم تكلم المؤلف عن البدعة وتعريفها لغة وشرعاً، وذكر كلاماً طويلاً حول ذلك.
ثم قال المؤلف في آخر الرسالة: "عصمنا الله من أفعال المبتدعين، وحشرنا في زمرة الذين لم يزالوا للسنة متبعين بمنه وكرمه، إنه أرحم الراحمين".
هذا وقد قام الأستاذ حسن السماحي سويدان بتحقيق هذه الرسالة، والتعليق عليها، وتخريج أحاديثها، مستأنساً بالرجوع إلى علماء الحديث الشريف والسنة النبوية.
البدعة أخطر من المعصية لأن العاصي يعتقد حرمة فعله فربما يستغفر منه ويندم عليه وتحصل له الذلة والانكسار ويقابل من الناس باللوم والاحتقار بخلاف أصحاب البدع فإنهم باعتقادهم أن بدعتهم عبادة لا يستغفرون منها ولا يندمون بل يتباهون ويتطاولون وينالون عند الناس المنزلة والاعتبار والتعظيم. فالمحب لله تعالى ورسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم يلتزم السنة أشد الالتزام ليحظى بشرف الاتباع وثوابه كما كان حال سيدنا عبد الله بن عمر رضي الله عنهما.
