تبحث هذه الرسالة في أحكام الخلل الواقع في الصلاة، وذلك لما للصلاة من مكانة سامية، إذ هي: أول الفروض، التي فرضت، وهي: عمود الدين، إن قبلت قبل ما سواها، وإن ردت رد ما سواها. فالصلاة ليست حركات يؤديها الإنسان، متمثلة في: قيام، وركوع وسجود، بل هي: تعني التوجه الخالص بنية صادقة لله، والانقطاع، والالتزام بأوامره، والابتعاد عن نواهيه. فهي: تسمو بالمسلم إلى عالم: الأخلاق الفاضلة، والقيم الرفيعة... وتفك أسرة من الشهوات. وكما هي أول فرض في الإسلام... فإنها: أول أمر يسأل عنه المسلم عندما يلقى ربه.
وبالعودة لمضمون هذه الرسالة نجد أنها قد اختصت ببيان مسائل الخلل الواقعة في الصلاة والتي هي: البناء على عدم السانح عند الشك، لزوم إحراز الشك، الشك في الشرط بعد الفراغ، وجود الشروط مع الشك، بطلان الصلاة بوجود لمانع وفقد الشرط، الشروط المستثناة، وجوب الطمأنينة في الأجزاء الواجبة، بطلان الصلاة بترك الواجب غير الركن، وجوب سجود السهو لكل زيادة ونقيصة، وجوب قضاء الجزء الذي يقض فوراً، كيفية سجدتي السهو، الشك في جزء من سجدتي السهو، عدم وجوب سجود السهو لمن شك، معنى البناء على الجزء بعد الدخول، المترتب على الظن كالعلم... سقوط أحكام الشك والسهو، لا فرق في الإمام والمأموم من حيث الذكوره و... رجوع الإمام الشك والظان، تعويل المأموم على الإمام، وإن كان ظاناً خطأ الخ من المسائل في هذا الموضوع.
