إنّ تفهم الإنسان مرضه وأسباب إصابته وطريقة علاجه هي من أهم الركائز التي يرتكز عليها الشفاء، هذا بالإضافة إلى أن حسن تقدير المريض لحالته، هو خير دواء وأنجع علاج. يمكن للقارئ أن يصل إلى هذه الأمور من خلال هذا الكتاب الذي يجد فيه معلومات تساعده في الوصول إلى إجابات حول صحته. وقد جعل المؤلف كتابه هذا في أربعة أبواب؛ الباب الأول أورد باختصار مجموعة معلومات تساعد القارئ في معرفة حالته الصحية ولياقته البدنية، وما إذا كانت عاداته وأسلوبه في الحياة وفي الأكل والشرب والنوم صحيحة أم لا، إلى جانب ذلك سيجد القارئ مجموعة من التوجيهات والنصائح حول إمكانية تحسين وضعه الصحي بشكل عام. وضم الباب الثاني تسع وتسعين مخططاً يستطيع القارئ الرجوع إليها، وتشخيص مرضه بنفسه بطريقة سهلة وسريعة ومفهومة إذا كان جاهلاً علّته. وضم الباب الثالث مجموعة من الصور الملونة بعضها عن تشريح جسم الإنسان من عظام عضلات وأجهزة وأعضاء... وبعضها الآخر عبارة عن صور لبعض الحالات المرضية تبين كيف يبدو المرض للعين. أما الباب الرابع والأخير فقد حوى شرحاً مفصلاً للأمراض والاضطرابات التي يعاني منها المرضى، حيث شرح المؤلف في هذا الباب كل الأمراض التي ورد ذكرها في المخططات وهي تشمل معظم الأمراض التي تصيب الإنسان.
