يتكفل هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا ببيان أموال النبيين والمرسلين الذين ذكرهم القرآن الكريم بأسمائهم أو بعض أوصافهم وقد يشير القرآن إلى أن أحدهم بوصفه فقط والسنة المحمدية القطعية تعينه باسمه وشخصه، كما ويتكفل أيضاً بذكر أحوال النبيين والمرسلين الذين لم يذكرهم القرآن الكريم ولكن السنة تتعرض إليهم حيث أن القرآن المجيد لم يذكر من الأنبياء سوى عدد لا يتجاوز الأربعين تقريباً.
والأنبياء والمرسلين الذي يتعرض لهم بالحديث هم: آدم أبي البشر عليه السلام، إدريس النبي عليه السلام، نوح عليه السلام، هود عليه السلام، صالح عبد السلام، إبراهيم خليل الرحمن عليه السلام، إسحاق بن إبراهيم عليه السلام، يعقوب ويوسف عليهما السلام، ذي القرنين، أيوب عليه السلام، شعيب عليه السلام، موسى عليه السلام ومولده، إلياس واليسع وذي الكفل وإسماعيل... عليهم السلام، لقمان وحكمه، طالوت وجالوت، داود عليه السلام، سليمان بن داود عليه السلام، أشعيا النبي عليه السلام، يونس عليه السلام، زكريا ويحيى عليه السلام، عيسى بن مريم عليه السلام، دانيال عليه السلام، عزيز وأرمياء عليهما السلام، أصحاب الكهف والرقيم، أصحاب الأخدود، جرجيس النبي عليه السلام، من آمن في الفترة بين المسيح ومحمد عليهما السلام.
