يجمع "عدنان شلاق" بين طيات هذا الكتاب مختلف ما وقف عليه في كتاب نصب الراية لأحاديث الهداية للإمام الحافظ جمال الدين الزيعلي الحنفي من أحاديث وآثار ومن مسائل فقهية وأقوال مأثورة عن الصحابة والتابعين وآراء العلماء والمجتهدين. وقد عُني بعد جمعها بفهرستها في قسمي كتابه هذا الذي بين أيدينا. وبالرجوع إلى أسلوب عمله في الفهرسة نجد أنه تجلى بما يلي: 1-دوّن فهرسة شاملة لما ورد في كتاب نصب الراية، من الأحاديث والأقوال والأفعال النبوية الشريفة بما في ذلك من الآثار والمسائل الواردة من الصحابة والتابعين رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين. 2-رتّب الفهرس على هجاء أوّل الأحاديث والآثار المنقولة، ثم ذكر اسم راوي الحديث ثم اسم الكتاب الذي ورد فيه الحديث ثم اسم الباب، ثم الجزء والصفحة. 3-جزأ الأحاديث التي اشتملت على عدة أحكام حسب أحكامها. 4-زاد على الأحاديث التي توافقت أطرافها الأولى. 5-رتب جميع الأسماء على حروف المعجم دون إفراد الكنى أو الأبناء أو النساء.
