وهذا الكتاب في الواقع هو يتبحّر في أصول الكافي كما يتبحر السيّاح في المياه والمحيطات ليستلهموا من مواهبها وذخائرها. فكتاب أصول الكافي الذي يقع في قسمين، يشتمل على ثمان عناوين أصيلة باسم "كتاب" 1-العقل والجهل، يبحث فيه حول الفكر والمعرفة والجهل وعدم المعرفة، 2-كتاب فضل العلم، 3-كتاب التوحيد، 4-كتاب الحجة، يبحث فيه حول النبوة والولاية والإمامة، 5-كتاب الإيمان والكفر، وفيه من المسائل ما يرتبط بموضوع الإيمان والكفر والثواب والذنب وغيرها من الأمور الأخلاقية، 6-كتاب الدعاء، 7-كتاب فضل القرآن، 8-كتاب العشرة، ويبحث فيه حول أسلوب الحياة والتعامل مع الآخرين. وكتابنا هذا والمحتوي على 465 قصة منتخبة من أصول الكافي وهي قصص واقعية وتربوية، أما ترتيبها فجاء على اثني عشر فصلاً موضوعياً مستخرجة من شتى أبواب كتاب أصول الكافي.
