يبحث هذا الكتاب الذي نقلب صفحاته في الأساليب التربوية التي تُمكن للوالدين تجنب المشكلات السلوكية والنفسية المتعبة في تعاملهم مع الأبناء وفي المرحلة الثانية للطفولة حسب منظور مدرسة أهل البيت حيث أن هذه المرحلة الممتدة من عمر 7-14 سنة من المراحل الصعبة التي تمرّ على الآباء والأبناء معاً... وهي مرحلة المراهقة المبكرة التي غالباً ما يقف الوالدان فيها مشدوهين أمام تصرف الولد وعبثه... وعاجزين عن كيفية التعاطف ومد يد العون إليه... ويثوران غالباً مُتَّهِمَانِه بالتحرر وسوء السلوك وعدم الطاعة فيزيدان من اضطرابه النفسي وبلبلته السلوكية، ولأن وجهة نظر الطفل في مرحلته الثانية هي الأكثر أهمية والأكثر إهمالاً لذا جاء هذا الكتاب ليبحث من جهة نظر الحدث الوسائل التربوية التي يستخدمها الوالدان لمساعدته على النمو والارتقاء ولا يعني هذا أبداً إهمال وجهة نظر والديه لأن ما يهم الوالدين وما يهم الحدث أمر واحد... فإن حقق الوالدان لطفلهما السعادة فإنه سيتحقق لهما أيضاً... أما إذا لم يكن الولد سعيداً فسيجدان نفسيهما بعيدين عن السعادة أيضاً..
ومن الحكمة وعي الوالدين هذه الحقيقة فيسعيان إلى التماس المعرفة التربوية ليربوا أولادهم في مأمن من الانحراف النفسي وسوء السلوك من خلال قراءتهم للكتب التربوية والنفسية الخاصة بسيكولوجية نمو الطفل. وبشكل عام احتوت الدراسة على أقسام عدة جاءت موضوعاتها تدور حول ما يلي: الميول النفسية للطفل عمر 7-14 سنة؛ الحاجات الأساسية لنمو الطفل في عمر 7-14 سنة. عقوبة الأولاد، سن الوقاحة ومرحلة الأزمات في الأولاد من عمر 12-15 سنة، الثقافة الجنسية للمراهق ورؤية المربي الإسلامي فيها؛ الخوف والقلق عمد الأولاد، علاج القلق والاضطراب في الأولاد من عمر 7-14 سنة
